The Minimum Wage

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) is part of UK law designed to avoid exploitation of workers by employers who in the absence of NMW would undercut competitors by paying unacceptably low wages.
Trade Unions campaigned for 100 years (yes, 100 years!) for the government to pass this law.
Nearly all workers in the UK should be paid at least the National Minimum Wage. Your employer is breaking the law if they aren’t paying it to you. It doesn’t matter how you are paid, what your contract says or what agreements you have made with your employer.
If you are not being paid NMW or your employer is fiddling with timesheets or your pay slip contact us.
The NMW rate from October 1st 2009 is £5.80 an hour.
